Well, I still love fairy tales.

They have characters with goals, conflict, resolution, drama, often a quest and a love interest.

Why I Won’t Be Doing Anything This Week

This week, I’m doing something that’s long overdue.

I’m taking a vacation. And I’m not going to do anything.

Not a trip to an exotic locale, or one that’s filled with a ton of exciting things to do.

(Though lounging by a pool does seem tempting, doesn’t it? That photo’s from a trip to India a few years ago).

A simple, stay-at-home, do-nothing vacation. Or, as they say, a “staycation.”

It’s been a hectic year (though doesn’t it seem as if every year is hectic, when we look back?), with ups and downs… as they tend to be. Nothing particularly earth-shattering about that.

Work has been, for the most part, good to me, and family and friends have been wonderful.

No more fun and games

With the buildup to Christmas, are you feeling deflated now that the actual day is over?

No more presents, great food and holiday cheer, you think? Nothing to look forward to?

Well… possibly, but today’s another pretty cool day. And that’s Boxing Day.

For the uninitiated, Boxing Day is the day after Christmas (though where celebrated, marked on the first weekday after Christmas, so that would mean it’s actually tomorrow, but whatever).

Traditionally, it’s been the day when people would give one of their “nice” presents to “the poor.” Paying it forward, you might say.
